Elections 2010: Public Office Candidates oath: speak change, make none, status quo.....

In my life long experience with what the founders called a social experiment I’ve learned to discern between what those seeking public office say and what they will do once elected. Even accounting for the deliberative process that is our congress---even understanding that a modicum of compromise is needed to get legislation passed and that those who seek office are most often self-serving megalomaniacs in nerds clothing and willing lapdogs of the oligarchs won’t help you understand the “political” process.

First look past speeches, tirades and demagoguery. That’s just for show. Drama. Theater. Look at what remains in the wake of these many years.

Despite promises to the contrary;

We the people are worse off now than at any other time since before the Great Depression

Following the Great Depression we the people had the opportunity to partake of what we have earned collectively over the past two centuries.

It’s not that we were “given” anything that we don’t already own, aren’t entitled to or haven’t earned. The notion that we the people were “given” anything is Ayn Rand/Euro Anglo speak for the oligarchs whining over having to share with we the people what they, the oligarchs, have stolen over the millennia.

Yet, since the Great Depression what we the people gained has been stolen from us yet again by the handful of obscenely wealthy who basically run everything.

Those who have taken office over the past eighty years or so have gone out of their way to make certain we the people make no gains great or small to narrow the gap between those who have and those who don’t. Put another way, the lapdogs in congress aren’t about change. They are about status quo.

Now those same lapdogs in the name of national security are creating a super police state that will only exacerbate the social engineering that has us where we are.

Those of you reading this need to wake up, see conditions for what they are not what you are told they are.

Filmmaker Says Katrina No Natural Disaster
Hurricane Katrina, and the destruction it wrought, are often referred to as a natural disaster. Think again, says actor Harry Shearer. In his documentary, The Big Uneasy, Shearer says much of the destruction in New Orleans was man-made and preventable -- and largely the fault of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Dems to IRS: Right-wing group is breaking tax law

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has filed a complaint with the IRS alleging that the right-wing group Americans for Prosperity Foundation is breaking tax law. The group has been running ads in the key election states of Kansas, Missouri and Michigan. The Democrats say the ads are political in nature, which is a no-no under the group's 501(c)3 tax status. Americans for Prosperity denies the charge.
